Vice President, Technology
The VP, Technology (VPT) is responsible for the strategic development and implementation of technology solutions that: meet business goals; improve operational efficiency; enhance our service offering to customers; and, help NuCompass to be the technology and innovation leader in the employee relocation industry. The VPT manages the IT department, which includes systems development and IT operations, and works closely with company leaders, and internal and external partners, to achieve the company’s technology goals. This position is located in our Pleasanton, CA headquarters office in the San Francisco Bay area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with company leadership to establish the company’s technology vision and develop and implement technology solutions that are consistent with the vision.
- Help drive business growth by introducing technology solutions that differentiate service offerings from those of our competitors.
- Consult and collaborate with internal customers, including business managers and employees, to understand business goals and develop technology solutions that will achieve those goals.
- Consult and collaborate with external partners, including corporate clients and service suppliers, to develop technology solutions that contribute to business success.
- Ensure that development priorities align with the company goals and that network operations strategy aligns with company growth and scalability.
- Manage all aspects of the IT Department, including the hiring and training of professional staff; retention of outside consultants; and maintenance and enhancement of network operations and technology equipment and services.
- Develop and implement plans to build IT team capabilities that address current technology needs as well as future opportunities.
- Develop and implement methods to standardize, simplify, automate and continuously improve IT processes, tools and systems, in order to optimize operations and control costs.
- Define and drive implementation of strategically-designed cybersecurity and compliance methodologies (GDPR, ISO 27000, SAE).

- Knowledge of a broad range of current technologies, including an understanding of emerging technologies and technology trends and how they impact a business like NuCompass.
- Ability to understand business goals and needs and to apply technology solutions that achieve those goals and meet those needs.
- Ability to successfully collaborate, communicate and negotiate with internal and external customers.
- Strong business skills. Ability to evaluate the costs, risks and benefits associated with alternative technology solutions.
- Strong analytical skills. Ability to analyze complex problems, and large amounts of data, and formulate useable interpretations and solutions.
- Strong writing and presentation skills.
- Exhibit the highest level of personal and professional integrity
- Preferred: Exposure to strategic planning, market opportunity, and competitive assessment techniques.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field. Preferred Masters Degree.
- At least 10 years of management and strategic experience in the Information Technology arena in positions of increasing responsibility.
- Preferred: Actual experience leading a traditional organization through transformation to becoming a technology driven organization.
