EU Issues Digital Green Certificate For Travel

In what may be a preview of post COVID-19 Global Mobility, a digital COVID-19 certificate in the European Union was released recently to provide safe and free movement for its citizens.

The document records whether an individual has been vaccinated, recovered from the virus, or has tested negative within 72 hours. The long-term goal is for everyone in the EU to have certificates, including visitors. However, vaccine passports in the United States have been debated for months and many U.S. businesses will not require employees to be vaccinated. New forms and more rigorous requirements, way beyond what used to exist in certain countries, could mean a longer process for relocating employees.
