The United States Faces Housing Shortages

Up For Growth recently released a ground-breaking report on housing underproduction in the U.S. The 2022 report — a first of its kind — analyzed local housing underproduction by county and metropolitan areas. It is meant to measure the gap between the supply and demand for housing in the U.S. California ranked first as the state with the highest housing deficit, followed by Colorado, Utah, and Oregon. California tops the list with a housing shortage of 79,000 homes. The housing shortage is becoming a nationwide issue, which can cause major quality-of-life issues for Americans.
