Wave of Skilled South Africans Moving to New Zealand

According to migration data, there has been a significant increase in the number of skilled South Africans moving to New Zealand this past year. The first six months of 2022 saw a record number of work-based residency applications approved, with 11,364 applications, compared with 8,394 in the whole of 2021, and 5,409 approvals in 2020. According to UN data, New Zealand is the fourth most popular destination for South African expats, followed by the U.K., Australia, and the U.S.
